what compass rose is? A compass rose, sometimes called a windrose, or Rose of the Winds, is a figure on a compass, map, nautical chart, or monument used to display the orientation of the cardinal directions: North, East, South, and West — and their intermediate points. ~ Wiki
SO? In my visual research, I systematized the compass rose and revealed the features of the image at different times. The main part of the book is devoted to the chronological visual story of the wind rose, where we can trace the variability of the image.
